A safari without travel insurance doesn't bear thinking about

17/06/2009

Holidaymakers planning to follow in David Attenborough's footsteps to see wild animals in their natural habitat ? often spending thousands of pounds on a safari ? are being reminded not to forget to buy travel insurance as soon as they have booked their trip.

Some of the most amazing animals captured on film by Attenborough for his recent BBC blockbuster Nature's Great Events are polar bears roaming wild in northern Canada.

Following the success of Attenborough's latest TV series holidaymakers with a keen interest in wildlife are expected to flock to the annual polar bear migration which takes place from October to mid-November. Hundreds of polar bears make their way towards Cape Churchill on the short of Hudson Bay, where they wait until the ice is strong enough to support them while they hunt for seals.

Wildlife Worldwide has Classic Polar Bear 7- or 8-day itineraries departing throughout October and early November, just in time for the annual migration. Trips cost from £3,800 per person. That's a lot of money to lose if you are forced to cancel at a later date, so don't forget to buy travel insurance as soon as you've booked.
