Airport strike called off

Easyjet is set to swell the number of destinations it flies to with the addition of up to 21 new locations.

As part of its takeover of GB Airways, the airline will inherit 32 of the carrier's routes.

However, 11 of these are to destinations to which Easyjet already operates flights.

The new destinations available from Gatwick Aiport are set to include diver's paradise Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, the winter-sun favourite Canary Islands, Malta, Cyprus and the Greek archipelago.

Meanwhile, flights to Corsica, Montpellier, Nantes and Hurghada in Egypt will be available from Manchester Airport.

A statement from Easyjet said: "It is intended GB Airways will continue to operate all routes under the British Airways brand until March 29th.

"After this, subject to regulatory approval, the GB flights will operate under the Easyjet brand and all customers who have booked to travel with GB Airways next summer will be given the choice of flying with Easyjet at the same times or else receive a refund."
