Travel rules relaxed for all travellers!

25/01/2022

Good news for holiday makers; the government have announced the rules for all travellers arriving back in England are going to be relaxed further. The other UK nations are expected to follow suit.

Fully vaccinated travellers

From 4am on 11 February Covid-19 testing will be completely dropped for fully vaccinated travellers arriving in England.

The only requirement will be to complete the passenger locator form before departing for England, which the government has pledged to make easier.

At the moment, if you have had 2 doses of a 2-dose vaccine you are considered to be fully vaccinated.  Children aged 17 and under can also follow the fully vaccinated rules.

Non-vaccinated travellers

For the first time since last summer the government is also relaxing rules for those who aren’t vaccinated.
From 4am on 11 February, those that do not qualify as fully vaccinated will need to do the following when travelling back to England:

  • show proof of a negative COVID-19 test – to be taken in the 2 days before you travel to England
  • book and pay for a COVID-19 PCR test – to be taken after you arrive in England
  • there is no requirement to quarantine unless the result of the PCR test is positive.
  • complete the passenger locator form before departing for the UK.
