Brits are "least desirable sunbathers"
06/08/2008
Brits abroad have been described as the least desirable nation of sunbathers by fellow Europeans this month.
According to a poll of over 1,000 lastminute.com customers, British bathers are the nation that French, Italian, Spanish and German holidaymakers least want to spy in a bikini on the beach.
Managing director of lastminute.com John Bevan said: "Whether these findings are following a myth or a reality, the truth to the matter is that Britons do not allow this to get in the way of a good holiday and should feel as confident on the beach as their European counterparts."
He added that UK holidaymakers should remind themselves that some of the world's top models, such as Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, are British, along with a collection of renowned fashion designers.
Interestingly, the survey revealed that 78 per cent of Brits agreed with the results.
Meanwhile, Take the Family, which provides information on hand-picked family holidays, has said this week that a growing number of UK travellers are choosing to use ferries as they are perceived as cost-effective.
