Celebs tip Maldives, Barcelona and Hollywood for holidays

Celebrities have told the Daily Telegraph of their favourite holiday destinations this week.

German supermodel Claudia Schiffer said that west Hollywood and Santa Monica are two of her top places to visit for their designer boutiques, while GMTV presenter Kate Garraway opted for the Dalmatian coast.

Jade Jagger, daughter of Rolling Stones singer Mick, told the paper that the Maldives is her idea of a holiday heaven.

"You've got the sand and the turquoise sea, although I could see myself going a little crazy if I stayed too long," she explained.

The Maldives is a collection of 1,190 coral islands, which is a popular place with scuba divers and well-known for its diverse and rich marine life.

Amanda Lamb, however, chose a destination closer to home.

For the Place in the Sun TV show presenter, Barcelona is the world's best holiday destination, while the south-west of England also got a look in.

She explained: "I love Sennen Cove in Cornwall. It's remote without being too remote and it has a little art gallery.".
