Chalets that will not bore even the coolest clientele
28/01/2010
You've heard of child-friendly accommodation, well now one travel website has come up with snow-boarder-friendly chalets - which are probably the same thing, really.
The travel search engine nowfly.co.uk, which aims to find users the cheapest flights, accommodation and car hire, has come up with a list of the coolest chalets for snowboarders who are too cool for run-of-the-mill accommodation.
Afraid that boarders will get, errrm bored, listening to other chalet guests bemoaning the modern education system, nowfly.co.uk has sought out uber-stylish chalets most likely to attract only the coolest clientele.
Amongst its recommendations is the chic Chalet Chocolat in the French resort of Chamonix, a mecca for extreme sports. Modern and stylish, the chalet is also very affordable as it's self-catering and if you get together with 13 friends it costs from just £2,099 for the group for a week.
Chalet Chocolat is part of the Rude Chalets portfolio, which has several other pretty cool places to stay on www.rudechalets.com
Also on the list is Riders Palace in Laax, Switzerland. The fact that the hotel (for it is really a hotel, not a chalet) has a club venue that attracts the likes of Dizzee Rascal gives it one of the hippest ratings of all. Check out www.riderspalace.ch for more details.
Two properties in Val d'Isere get a mention; The Farmhouse, which combines rustic charm with all mod-cons, and the Chalet Arosa, recommended for its squidgy sofas, wide-screen plasma TV and the hot tub. Both are available at www.vip-chalets.com
