Cheap flights fuel citybreak boom
03/10/2007
The growth of cheap flights has brought regular citybreaks increasingly within the reach of British families, it has been claimed.
According to a spokesman from takethefamily.com the ever-growing number of budget airlines offering cheap flights, coupled with the option to book flights and accommodation separately, has made short citybreaks more affordable than ever before.
Moreover, with so many cheap flights available, parents are afforded ever more flexibility as to the kind of holidays they take as well as their duration, the spokesperson added.
"They [cheap flights] have also allowed parents to make their own decisions of when they go and how long they go for and they are no longer restricted to the seven or 14-days holiday options," he said.
Figures from a report conducted by the Official Airline Report showed that there were two million more cheap aeroplane seats available in January 2007 than there had been at the same time the previous year.
