Cobalt Airline Ceases Trading: Advice for Customers
18/10/2018
Low cost airline Colbalt cancelled all flights from midnight yesterday. The airline, which operated flights in and out of Cyprus, including from Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester has suspended all operations.
All Insurewithease.com travel insurance policies include Scheduled Airline Failure, which provides cover in the event that one of your holiday suppliers, including an airline, becomes insolvent.
If you are in Cyprus waiting to return home
The Cypriot Government has confirmed that it will be arranging for travellers to get back to where they came from, but they have stressed that they will only cover return tickets.
If you are still in the UK
Travellers are advised not to the airport.
If you have booked through a tour operator or travel agent contact them, they should be able to provide you with an alternative flight, or a refund.
If your flight was not part of a package you should contact your credit card in the first instance to ask for a refund.
If you have a flight only booking which was not paid for by credit card please contact International Passenger Protection in order to make a claim.
