Expert helps holidaymakers "sleep around"
03/04/2008
Holidaymakers have been given tips on how to "sleep around" when abroad, this month.
The Sleep Council has recommended that travellers take their own pillows on holiday to ensure getting a good night's sleep when away from home.
Jessica Alexander, of The Sleep Council, commented on some of the new facilities available to holidaymakers, which will help them get a better night's rest.
She said: "Passengers lucky enough to take advantage of the new flat beds on planes, the ability to adopt a more comfortable sleeping position must improve the likelihood of more refreshing rest.
"Hotels around the world have realised that most of all they are selling sleep and getting a good bed and sleeping environment is vital."
Ms Alexander also, very sensibly, advised holidaymakers to refrain from overindulging in rich foods or alcohol if they are serious about achieving quality sleep.
The Sleep Council aims to raise awareness of the importance of a good night's sleep to an individual's health and wellbeing, both at home and abroad.
It is funded by the National Bed Federations, which is the trade association for this type of product in Britain.
