FIFA World Cup travel packages set to be a sell out
12/11/2009
Many travel packages to the FIFA World Cup in South Africa next year have already sold out, says Thomson Sport (www.thomsonsport.com).
The company's long stay and finals packages are all booked up, said a spokeswoman, but Thomson Sport has responded to demand by launched two more packages ahead of the official draw, to decide which teams play where, in Cape Town on December 4.
With limited availability generally on accommodation across South Africa during the World Cup, it is understood that there will be a lack of general accessibility to official tickets and accommodation once the draw takes place unless booking through an official accommodation and travel provider, she said.
Thomson Sport will offer new one and two match official travel packages, which it claims will provide 'competitively priced' accommodation in Cape Town, though this is far from where many of the matches will be played.
In (Thomson's) opinion, this is the best city in South Africa for England supporters to base themselves said the spokeswoman.
Thomson Sport also offers accommodation and travel packages for those that have already got match tickets for England's first two matches in the group stages of the World Cup.
Prices start from £3699 per person including 11-nights accommodation at the Holiday Inn Express in Cape Town, international flights, coach transfers, local South African guides, Thomson Sport merchandise and Thomson Sport representation.
Packages including match tickets start from £3825 per person.
For those that have already got tickets for England's third group match, Thomson Sport offer travel packages from £2449 per person for four nights. Packages including a match ticket start from £2512 per person.
