Gatwick Travel Centre "improves access for passengers"

The new Onward Travel Centre at Gatwick Airport will make passage and from the airport easier than ever, it has been claimed.

Located in the arrivals hall, the centre brings together the profusion of rail, coach and taxi travel options offered to passengers.

In so doing, it eliminates confusion and speeds up the process for passengers, according to Caroline Alderson of Gatwick Airport.

She said: "The Onward Travel Centre is located right by the arrivals area so literally as soon as people step out into Gatwick it's the first thing they see and they have all of their onward travel services all in one place. It makes things easier and quicker."

The centre is part of the airport's plan to encourage 40 per cent of its non-transfer customers to travel to Gatwick by public transport, thus cutting the facility's carbon footprint.

The Hotelink, Southern Trains and National Express desks which previously served passengers at the South Terminal have now closed.
