Many Brits go on holiday in Orlando to visit the explosive theme parks that are on offer. There's Disney World, Universal Studios and the newly opened Wizarding World of Harry Potter. But what else can you do while you're on holiday in Orlando?
If you are taking a holiday in Orlando this August and you enjoy a bit of sci-fi, why not check out Star Wars Celebration V. Star Wars Celebration V will be held at the Orange County Convention Centre on 12-15 August 2010.
Star Wars Celebrations have been running for a number of years, attracting fans and celebrities from across the globe. This year, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and many other stars of the sci-fi saga will be available to sign autographs, while Star Wars creator George Lucas will attend a special onstage interview on Saturday.
The R2-D2 Builders will be hosting a spectacular display of droids and re-enacted scenes from The Empire Strikes Back in celebration of the film's 30th anniversary. Also, droid races will take place on a specially designed race course.
Collectors of Star Wars memorabilia will have a field day at Star Wars Celebration V. Animated artwork, Star Wars cards and even food memorabilia will be up for grabs. There will even be a selection of humorous collectibles.
On Friday, the Troop-Athlon Races will be a fast paced series of challenges for teams of troopers dressed in full armour. The event will include races on Segway's and a humorous round of the 'Ewok Toss'! Star Wars Celebration V also features a Bounty Hunt challenge and tattoo artists will be on hand to offer Star Wars themed tattoos!
The event is suitable for families, and children can attend at a discounted price. Single day tickets and four day passes can be purchased online, but they can also be bought onsite at an inflated price. Star Wars Celebration V will be packed with things to do, and avid fans of the saga will think they're in Star Wars heaven!
