Alternatively, there's a half-board winter sports holiday to a three-star hotel in Arinsal in Andorra, which is down from £459 to £359 for seven nights, including flights and transfers. The price is based on two people sharing a room.
The above prices are for selected departures in January, which is the generally the cheapest month for a winter sports holidays.
Prices are lower than throughout the rest of the season because there are no school holidays, it's usually colder than later in the year and the days are shorter than in March and April.
On the plus side, the quality of the snow is often better and the slopes are quieter.
