Kick off 2010 with a cruise for 1 GBP
26/11/2009
If you're stuck for the ideal Christmas present this year, you might be tempted to book your loved one a cruise and take advantage of the plethora of special offers around at this time of year.
One of the best deals announced this week is a £1 cruise from MSC Cruises (www.msccruises.co.uk) which has voyages in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Northern Europe, the Americas and Africa, ranging from three-nights to 11-nights.
Bookings must be made between November 28 and December 14 for cruises in 2010. A seven-night Caribbean cruise next year starts at £750 per person but, under the terms of the promotion, a second person sharing the same cabin pays only £1. Prices do not include flights.
Families are also being offered discounted adventurous cruises to Alaska next summer by cruise line Princess Cruises (www.princess.com).
The line has promotional rate of £2,619 for adults and £1,729 for children for 12-night holidays available through selected travel agents.
Cruise customers looking to make further savings on cruises are reminded that they don't need to buy travel insurance from the cruise line or their travel agent. Travel insurance suitable for cruise holidays is available online, usually at much lower premiums.
The Princess Cruises itinerary is for a seven-night cruise from Vancouver in Canada to Whittier on either Diamond Princess or Coral Princess plus a five-night overland tour.
The line's head of brand marketing Pieter van der Schee said: Alaska is a wonderful travel destination with kids.""
