New travel review website for happy holidays
01/10/2009
A new travel review website has been launched to allow holidaymakers to see the opinions of other travellers before they book a trip.
However, unlike some other review sites such as TripAdvisor.com, Trip-elated.com only allows holidaymakers to post positive reviews of the places they've visited, so it might not be the best place to look for a balanced opinion.
The site monitors reviews, so any negative comments holidaymakers attempt to post will be removed.
Explaining why the site posts only positive reviews, founder Amanda Brown said: Consumers are tired of trawling through countless websites and being faced with a constant array of conflicting information.
""By placing our focus on the positive everyone benefits: the reviewee knows that all publicity will be good publicity and the consumer is safe in the knowledge that everything we feature is of a high standard?it's a win-win situation!
There aren't that many reviews on the site yet ? perhaps because it's still in its infancy or maybe because holidaymakers prefer to give a more balanced review of their trips.
Meanwhile, a site dedicated to single skiers and boarders has been launched by a company that organises active holidays for solo travellers.
The new site snowbreaks.com allows skiers to choose their holiday by departure date or by destination. The company caters for skiers and boarders of all abilities.
""The single adult population in the UK is estimated at 14.2 million we meet a lot of them on our holidays just because you don't come as a pair shouldn't limit your holiday choices, said founder Simon Prockter.
Other travel companies that cater for solo skiers include Neilson (www.neilson.co.uk) which features dozens of hotels across the Alps that charge zero or small single room supplements.
