Online booking has revolutionised Brits travel habits

10/10/2007

The internet has brought about a sea change in Britons' holiday booking habits and has made overseas travel more accessible than ever before, it has been claimed.

According to no-frills carrier easyJet, the advent of internet booking and the profusion of deals available to view means that holidaymakers now have access to more information about tour operators and airlines, making the process of booking a holiday more convenient.

Furthermore, since we are able to compare prices easily, we are able to secure ourselves the best deal, the firm claims.

A spokesman for easyJet said: "The internet enables you to search for exactly what you want.

"It gives you that choice, it gives you flexibility and it gives you great value for money, all at your finger tips."

Research from Visa UK released in June found that 36 per cent of Britons planned to book a holiday online in the next twelve months, while 17 per cent said they would use the internet to browse for holiday deals.
