Pet retailer donates money for animal welfare
23/10/2008
A pet shop has donated money to a number of animal welfare charities.
A pet retailer has donated more than £1,000 to help animal welfare in the Aintree area, pet insurance customers may be interested to learn.
Pets at Home's Charitable Foundation donated £300 to Animals in Need and £600 each to Cats Protection and the Dogs Trust, the Maghull and Aintree Star reports.
Vickie Holt, Pets at Home in Aintree's store manager, said it is "unfortunate" that each year thousands of pets are made homeless.
"It's our mission to help these pets find a loving home and working together with the Animals In Need, Cats Protection and Dogs Trust, we're attempting to do just that," Ms Holt commented.
Pet insurance customers may be interested to know that Pets at Home has more than 200 pet stores across the UK.
In 2007, the firm, which also offers veterinary treatments and nutritional advice in its stores, was named Retail Week's Specialty Retailer of the Year.
