Roam for free this summer with cheap travel insurance
16/05/2009
Savvy holidaymakers can save oodles of cash this summer by signing up for Vodafone's Passport service and finding cheap travel insurance online.
Vodafone is ditching its roaming charges for the next 3 months for customers who opt into its Passport programme so, from June 1, they will be able to make and receive calls and text messages from 33 countries in Europe and from Australia and New Zealand at the same rate as if they were calling from the UK.
If you have a free allowance with Vodafone, your call or text will be included in that. Normally Passport customers pay a 75p connection charge and then make calls and send texts from abroad at their home rate. The 75p connection charge will be dropped until the end of August, after which customers can opt out of Passport.
If you don't already use Vodafone Passport, you can sign up by texting the word 'Passport' to 97888 if you pay monthly or to 2345 if you use Pay As You Go. To find out more, go to www.vodafone.co.uk/passport. Before you log off see how much more money you could save by buying cheap travel insurance online from www.insurewithease.com.
