Save money on family Easter ski holidays

19/03/2010

As this has been one of the best ski seasons on records it would be a shame not to sneak in a last family ski holiday over Easter, don't you think? Alpine resorts still have so much snow and operators have dropped their prices so low that it would be rude not to at least have a look at what's available.

Directski.com has knocked up to £300 off its self-catering breaks to some of the coolest resorts in France and Austria, bringing the lead-in price of a family Easter ski holiday down to just under £1,200, including flights, transfers and accommodation.

If you can travel either side of the school Easter holidays, you'll be able to pick up a package for less than £200 with one of the big ski operators, most of which still have plenty of holidays available at knock down prices. Try Crystal, First Choice, Inghams and Thomson.

Single parents should try Esprit Ski, which has some deals over Easter for one adult and one child.

Directski.com points out that now is the best time of year for a family ski holiday as the weather is warmer than earlier in the season, the days are longer giving you more time on the slopes and the queues are not quite as long as during the February half-term break.

Families who are able to plan ahead could pick up discounted ski holidays for next winter as most of the larger tour operators have already put their winter 2010/11 brochures on sale with special deals for early bookers.
