Spend Christmas in Toronto and experience Winter Magic

19/11/2010

Winter Magic is a series of events and festivities that make Christmas in Toronto truly special. Festive window displays and an exciting programme of entertainment will set you up for a magical Christmas in Toronto.

Christmas in Toronto would be nothing without Illuminate, the official Christmas lights ceremony. Head to Yonde-Dundas Square at 6pm on 20 November to witness Illuminate. The evening kicks off with the Larchaud Dance Project, where the dancers combine athletics, break dancing, aerial acrobatics and martial arts in their performances. At 6:30pm, a fire show lights the skies and the Tree Lighting Finale is sure to be an explosive finish.

Winter Magic's Ice, Wine & Dine spectacle makes eating and drinking a fun event. While ice carvers created magnificent, frozen sculptures, stilt walkers, fire performers and magicians perform for your entertainment.

Buskertainment, a new feature of Winter Magic this year, will be running from now until 19 December on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 2pm. Buskertainment is a series of street acts that are taking place at various outdoor locations around Toronto.

Children can enjoy Christmas in Toronto at Kidzfest on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November. The free weekend at Yonde-Dundas Square incorporates face painting and colourful stage performances.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay whilst you enjoy Christmas in Toronto, there are a few hotels that are offering special Winter Magic packages. Try the Bond Palace Hotel, the Delta Chelsea Hotel, Pantages Hotel in Toronto Centre, or the Toronto Mariott at the Downtown Eaton Centre.
