The world's top haunted hotels to visit at Halloween

Asian online hotel service agoda.com has provided Halloween holidaymakers with a list of its top haunted hotels around the world.

travel insurance customers lucky enough to be taking an exotic break over the spooky weekend will be scared witless if they visit any of the hotels on the list.

The Savoy Hotel in India is haunted by its former owner Lady Orme who died when she sipped medicine that was poisoned with strychnine.

At the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, USA, guests have reported sightings of blonde sex symbol Marilyn Monroe gazing out of a mirror.

In London's Langham Hilton, a BBC reporter allegedly saw a floating golden spectre ball in room 333.

The hotel is also said to be home to the ghost of Napoleon.

Other hotels on the list include the Nottingham Road Hotel in South Africa, the Genting Highlands Resort in Malaysia and Dragsholm Slot in Denmark.

For the rest of us unfortunates planning to stay at home, police around the country have warned that the crime rate is expected to spike during the forthcoming festivals
