Thomas Cook flights to offer more leg-room

Economy passengers on Thomas Cook Airline's long-haul flights are to be given more leg-room, it has been announced.

As of May next year, the carrier will increase its economy seat pitch from 30 inches to 33 inches on flights to far-flung locales, according to a report from travelmole.com.

The move will affect seven of the company's Airbus A330 planes and will coincide with the merger of Thomas Cook with MyTravel scheduled for March 2008.

Tony Hopkins, director of product at Thomas Cook UK & Ireland, said: "With the introduction of Boeing's 757 Dreamliners reportedly delayed until spring 2009, Thomas Cook is pleased to be able to offer the trade an enhanced in-cabin experience in time for the next summer season.

"What this innovation means is agents now have access to an enhanced long-haul offering from the most famous name in travel which they can sell to their customers with confidence."
