Travel Insurance: Cover for green & amber list countries (subject to FCDO advice)

Insurewithease.com can provide travel insurance cover for countries on the government’s amber and green lists, so long as the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is not advising against all, or all but essential travel to that destination.  

(We cannot cover destinations which are on the red list, or where the FCDO advises against all or all but essential travel).

Here are some of the places where you can travel to for a holiday right now and a summary of the current entry requirements.  (Correct at the time of writing 25/06/2021)

Green list countries

Being on the green list means that you will not need to quarantine when you return to the. You will need to take a pre-travel antigen/rapid flow test before you return to the UK and a PCR test once you are home.

Balearics (Formentera, Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca) 

The Balearics move to the green list from 4am on 30 June. 
From 1st July UK arrivals to the Balearic Islands will need proof of a negative Covid-19 test or that they are fully vaccinated.

Madeira

Madeira will move to the green list from 4am on 30 June.
You will need proof of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before your arrival or negative antigen test within 24 hours of arrival.  Temperature checks are also being conducted on arrival.  If you can prove you are fully vaccinated you don’t need to do a pre-travel test.

Malta

Malta will move to the green list from 4am on 30 June.
From 30 June holiday makers arriving in the Malta will have to show proof that they are fully vaccinated. You are also required to have proof of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours prior to arrival in Malta.

Gibraltar 

You can visit Gibraltar without having to self-isolate on arrival if you are fully vaccinated.  You will need to upload your vaccination certificate on the Passenger Locator Form and book a Covid-19 lateral flow test to take on arrival, and another after 5 days.  If you are unvaccinated you will need to self-isolate for 5 days on arrival.

Antigua

Antigua will move to the green list from 4am on 30 June.
You will need proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival, this must be done by health professional, not at home.  Health screening, including a Covid-19 test, will be conducted on arrival. 

Barbados

Barbados will move to the green list from 4am on 30 June.
If you are fully vaccinated, you will need to take a PCR test on arrival and remain at your accommodation following quarantine rules until you get the results of the test.  If you are unvaccinated you will have to quarantine for 5 days.

Iceland 

You can only visit Iceland for leisure travel if you can prove that you have been fully vaccinated or have previously recovered from a Covid-19 infection.  You will need to have a Covid-19 test on arrival and quarantine until you get the result (usually within 24 hours).

Amber list countries

Travel insurance from Insurewithease.com can provide cover for you to travel to amber list countries so long as the FCDO are not advising against all, or all but essential travel.

When returning to England from an amber list country you will be required to quarantine at home for 10 days, as well as taking a pre-departure test and two PCR tests once back in the UK.  The requirements may be different for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Canary Islands

You will need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within the last 72 hours or proof of full vaccination to your tourist accommodation provider.  Health checks are also in place on arrival at airport.

Portugal

You will need proof of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before your arrival or negative antigen test within 24 hours of arrival.  Temperature checks are also being conducted on arrival.

The Azores

Proof of a negative pre-travel covid test taken 72 hours before arrival is required.

Greek Islands of Rhodes, Kos, Zakynthos, Corfu and Crete

You will need proof of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before your arrival, or proof that you have been fully vaccinated. You will also be required to take a free antigen test on your day of arrival.

Cuba

You are required to have proof of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours prior to arrival in Cuba.  You are also required to take a free PCR test when you arrive.

St Lucia

There is no quarantine when you arrive in St Lucia, so long as you are fully vaccinated. You will be required to have proof of a negative PCR test taken within 5 days of travel.  There will also be screening on arrival including temperature checks.

Fully vaccinated generally means having 2 doses of a vaccine. The second dose must have been more than 14 or 15 days before arrival.  You must check the requirements of your destination country. www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
