Travel insurance for a hole-in-one
01/07/2009
Forget the Algarve, Bulgaria is aiming to become the next big golfing destination but anyone planning to take their clubs on holiday should make sure they're not handicapped by their travel insurance.
Most policies won't pay out enough to cover the loss of expensive golf equipment and don't provide for equipment hire if your clubs are lost or stolen. However, insurewithease.com offers specialist golf insurance that can be bolted on to its Silver and Gold policies for an additional fee.
The insurance provides up to £1,000 cover for golf equipment, up to £50 a day towards hire costs to replace lost or stolen clubs, and up to £50 a day for non-refundable green fees if you are unable to play due to bad weather.
And don't worry if you get a hole-in-one and can't afford the celebratory round of drinks in the clubhouse afterwards ? insurewithease Golf Cover rewards customers with £100 for such a feat. Proof is required!
Bulgaria has only a handful of golf courses at present, the most highly rated of which is the Air Sofia Golf Club close to the capital, but 5 more are being built close to the coast or near the country's top ski resorts.
