Two days left to book free ski carriage with Ryanair

04/10/2009

Ryanair is offering winter sports fans free ski and snowboard carriage to the Alps ? but only if they book within the next couple of days.

The offer is available to holidaymakers taking selected flights to some European airports including Grenoble, Turin and Salzburg, which are gateways to some of the best skiing in the Alps.

Ryanair's normal charges are £30 per flight when booked in advance or £40 if paid for at the airport. That means skiers and boarders can save up to £80 on the total cost of their ski holiday ? but they must book a.s.a.p

The Ryanair offer will save a family of four, taking their own equipment to the Alps, a minimum of £240, so it's well worth rushing to book if you already know where and when you want to ski this winter.

Bookings must be made by midnight on October 1 on ryanair.com. The offer is limited to the first 10,000 bookings.

Ryanair offers 50 flights a week from seven UK and one Irish airport to ski destinations. Fares start from £19.99 one way, including taxes and charges, but these fares will almost definitely rise closer to the dates of departure.

The airline's free equipment carriage offer is available on 15 of its winter routes.

British Airways, which had previously offered free sports equipment carriage, will start charging passengers for ski and snowboard carriage from October 7.

Its charges are only slightly less than Ryanair's standard fees. BA's charges are £28 for passengers who book online and £35 if they pay at the airport.
